Beginners - Choose your Style The first thing you need to do is select what style of dancing you want to learn. All these styles are danced with a partner, but you don't need to have your own partner. There are many people who come to the studios by themselves. Dance classes are a great way to meet people and make new friends. Classes are nearly always close to even (though we can't promise it will always happen that way). Everyone is encouraged to change partners regularly as it is easier and quicker to learn if you experience dancing with different people. Couples can stay together if they wish. Ballroom and Latin American Social Style Dance Course. - a great way to start. These general purpose classes teach a relaxed and easy style of dancing, are loads of fun and cover social Ballroom as well as the more traditional Latin and rock and roll. We use the International Dance System which is taught world wide. Social dancing is not formal like the dancing you see on Dancing with the Stars or at competitions. This social course will get you out dancing and enjoying yourself. For more advanced dancing many continue on to our medal courses. Argentine Tango - from Buenos Aires is a very different dance from the ballroom Tango. The music and dance are softer and slower. If you saw the dance scene in Scent of a Woman, you are familiar with the Argentine Tango. There are a number of other movies featuring it - Take the Lead, Tango, The Tango Lesson etc Salsa - fast and exciting, the modern South American rhythm. It is featured in movies such as Dance with Me, Salsa etc. A great club dance. We teach the L.A. Style - very easy to learn.
Select the style you want, view the web page and choose your starting date. You can enrol on line, but don't need to pay until you arrive at the studios. What you need to bring - click here for Frequently Asked Questions |
