YOUR WEDDING
FIRST DANCE in your own private mirrored studio
(no sharing of music or space with other couples)
New Zealand's most experienced wedding dance teachers will
not only make you look really good on this every special day, but you'll
have a load of fun learning your own personalised choreographed dance.
Your choice of music can be, in order of
popularity, foxtrot, rhumba, argentine tango, cha cha, viennese waltz or
traditional slow waltz, rock and roll, salsa, or a simplified dirty dance
routine (from the movie Dirty Dancing)

Learn by either Private Lessons or Classes, or a combination
of both.
PRIVATE LESSONS - For either you or your wedding group.
Dance
that first dance together to your own choice of music with a dance
choreographed just for you.
Personalised tuition in a completely private studio is $70 per hour for 2
people. If your wedding party joins in, add $8 for each extra person.
The number of lessons you'll need depends on the complexity of your
routine and how much you practice between lessons. For the man to
confidently lead your first dance, plan on a minimum of 4 - 6 lessons
for a simple routine.
Private lessons are available on Sundays, with some during the day on
other days. Sundays are good days for wedding lessons as people
have the time and are relaxed.

When you come for your lessons:

Bring your music with you, preferably on a CD
or I pod

Bring shoes similar to your wedding shoes - ladies, not your wedding
shoes as they could get marked!

Let us know the size of the floor you will be dancing on

We suggest a video camera to record your routine (many couples have
used a phone video successfully) for practice at home (lots of fun)

class tuition plus one private lesson to add all the extras you need for
your wedding day.
THE DANCE
Many couples dance a foxtrot for their first dance, but it can be the
traditional wedding waltz, or any other dance you want.
Couples have selected music for foxtrot (very popular and the most used
when you go dancing), rhumba, cha cha, Argentine tango, samba, rock and
roll, mambo (a simplified routine from Dirty Dancing), waltz, salsa and
Viennese waltz.
Use your own music selection for a simple or choreographed advanced routine.
First dances have been from one to four minutes
duration with dance floor sizes from 2 square metres to hotel ballrooms,
with the average wedding dance floor of 5 x 5 metres.
Whatever you choose, we make it easy and we'll show you not only how to
look good but give you all those extra tips that only come from years of
experience teaching the first dance to wedding couples.
